Pendry Washington DC - The Wharf

This hotel is beautiful and well appointed. The rooms are so nice, beds are comfortable, water pressure is strong and hot. The location is convenient and stunning! There were complications with our room block, valet was backed up, rooms were a little mixed up. The hotel worked with us to fix everything which we appreciated but I just expected a more seamless experience with the amount of upfront communication we had going into it. My group has stayed at the Pendry Baltimore frequently and I think they are a little more elevated. All in all, I would stay here again!

Great location at the Wharf. A great area to stay in, which is filled with restaurants and bars. Would definitely return. We went for a run in the morning, picking up the complimentary water by the exit (nice touch!) It was a short run to the national monuments and a fantastic start to the day. This was followed by a relaxing afternoon at the pool, which was busy but the perfect way to cool down in the Summer heat! The room was fantastic - very big, a comfy bed and an enormous and amazing shower in the bathroom. (I do query how many people have slipped on the shower though - take care!) It’s also a 20 min cab ride to Georgetown if you fancy a change of scene. Would definitely book again and we much preferred to it to the other hotel we stayed at in Washington previously.

I had a fantastic time during our brief stay from Jan 1st - 3rd, post the New Year rush. The district was pleasantly quiet, and the hotel exceeded expectations. The concierge (Nick) was proactive, addressing accommodation queries and making reservations, even extending assistance for nearby bars and restaurants prior to our arrival. Justin was amazing checking us in. Pendry’s ambiance and service were delightful, our bartender was super, and Fora Fora’s breakfast, especially the cold overnight oats, was a delicious highlight, the staff there was amazing as well. The rooftop bar with family featured excellent views, food, and drinks, accompanied by knowledgeable bartenders. We really had a great time. The room was comfortable, and the entire hotel staff was welcoming with big smiles. We felt very welcomed. Just a minor hiccup during checkout on the morning of the 3rd – the young lady at the checkout desk didn’t greet or offer assistance while my hands were full. Despite this, it was a small concern compared to the overall amazing experience. There was a small billing confusion. Because of the minibar in the hotel, there isn’t much refrigerator space. We took some of the bottles out, to accommodate our perishable. Upon checkout, I put everything back, but I did not put it back in the same spots. We were charged for all the bottles that we took out. A quick email. I immediately got a cal. And the confusion was resolved immediately with apologies. I regret not having specific names, but I hope the dates provide recognition for the exceptional staff. Highly recommended! We will be back. THANK YOU 🌹

We just checked into the Pendry on a last second reservation and are all blown away by this hotel so far. It's absolutely georgous here, from the sizable one bedroom suite we are in, to the gym, the pool area, and restaurants on property. Everything is stunning. The pool area, in particular, is special and makes you feel like you're in another world. While not quite as good as the pool area at the Four Seasons in Baltimore, this pool gives that one a run for its money. We are also very impressed with the Wharf area of DC in general. Other than coming to this area once for a baseball game, we are pleasantly surprised to see all of the fantastic restaurants and nightlife right around this hotel. The developers did a fantastic job building up the Wharf. In any event, the Pendry is going to be our new go-to spot while visiting DC, we HIGHLY recommend this beautiful property!

A residence of northern VA, my family and I do staycations in the DC area occasionally. We picked Pendry since it was practically new plus we’ve stayed at the other hotels at the wharf. Compared to the Intercontinental and Hilton, Pendry is our favorite. The rooms, amenities and service are top notch. The staff was very kind, helpful and professional. The gym & the pool were as good as you’d find in high end resorts. The restaurant at the Pendry has a superb breakfast. My family and I plan on returning and enjoying another weekend.

Extremely pleased with our stay at the Pendry Hotel at the Wharf. Couldn't think of one complaint if I tried. Staff and service was amazing, architecture and design was stunning and comfortable with a great vibe, the restaurants and bar were perfect and our room was awesome. John, the bell captain provided us transportation to the airport which was just icing on the cake. 5 STAR EXPERIENCE!!!

Had I written this review within an hour of checking out, it would have been a solid four stars. The staff are professional and friendly, the location is great if you need to stay in the Wharf area, and the rooms are spacious and elegant. Having a clothes steamer in each room was a welcome surprise, and the mini bar was decked out, if that's your thing. I would have docked a point for the check-in process and lack of clarity around check-in/check-out times. At check-in, there is no traditional front desk. Instead, you're greeted by two concierge-style desks and left standing awkwardly next to your luggage, or sitting just inside the front door. Neither desk was staffed when I arrived, and waited at least five minutes until someone arrived while the staff greeting guests stood nearby. My room was not ready - at 4pm - but the check-in staff were able to get me into another room. The check-in and check-out times are buried on their website, but they are apparently 4pm and 12pm respectively. It was my experience after checking out that left me with a negative impression. Over the course of the morning, I received multiple autogenerated emails with folio receipts for other guests - not only at Pendry's DC location, but in NYC as well. These receipts contained guests' full names, room numbers, arrival and departure dates, charges, and partial credit card numbers. I received no response from the DC location after responding to one of these many emails, and the influx stopped only after someone at the NYC location removed my email from their system entirely. It was not only frustrating to deal with, but concerning that guests' information is not secure.
